Question 1: Describe the minimum election qualifications for a FFA Greenhand Degree.
Answer 1: In order to obtain a FFA Greenhand degree, a student must be enrolled in agriculture eduction and have acceptable plans for a supervised experience program. He or she must know and explain the FFA Creed, motto, salute, and mission statement. He or she must describe and explain what the FFA emblem and colors mean. A knowledge of the FFA Code of Ethics and proper use of the FFA Jacket must be demonstrated. A knowledge of the history of the organization, the bylaws and the constitution of the chapter, and its program of activities must be shown. The person must own or have access to the Official FFA Manual and the FFA Student Handbook. A written application for the FFA Greenhand Degree must be submitted. The FFA Creed, motto, salute, and Mission Statement must be recited from memory. A score of at least 80 percent must be achieved on the Greenhand test.

Question 2: Describe some of the election qualifications for the Chapter FFA Degree.
Answer 2: The candidate must have received the Greenhand FFA Degree. He or she must have completed at least one year of agricultural education at or above the 9th grade, have a supervised agricultural experience in operation, and be enrolled in an agricultural education program. The member must have earned and invested at least $150 his or her own efforts or worked at least 45 hours in addition to scheduled class time, or a combination of the two. He or she must have also devised plans for continued improvement and growth in a supervised agricultural experience program. The member must be able to lead a group discussion for 15 minutes. A demonstration of five procedures of parliamentary law is required. Progress must be shown toward individual achievement in FFA award programs. The member must have a satisfactory scholastic record, submit a written application for the degree, and participate in at least one career development event.
Question 3: Discuss the prestige of the American FFA Degree.
Answer 3: The American FFA Degree is the highest membership level one may attain as a FFA member. It is seen as the final step in a system meant to encourage the member to achieve and grow toward an agricultural career. Before applying for the American FFA Degree, the member must have recieved the Greenhand, Chapter, and State FFA degrees. The American FFA degree is earned only by a small percentage of FFA members, and is a mark of great accomplishment within the organization. Commitment and hard work are essential to earning this degree. One does not have to live on a farm or ranch to achieve the degree, but must show progress in an individual supervised agricultural learning experience.
